This morning we make our way to Yarra Glen, the heart of Victoria's stunning Yarra Valley. We'll enjoy morning tea from the coach before arriving at Alowyn Gardens for an introductory talk and plenty of time to wander around at our leisure. The purpose of the gardens at "Alowyn" is to provide an informative and educational experience for anyone interested not only in gardening, but also the enjoyment of a beautiful garden. It has been designed with shade and comfort in mind. The gardens have been developed into six distinct areas, all leading from one magnificent 100-metre long wisteria and rose covered arbour. The total garden space takes up approximately 4 acres. The six areas are: the perennial border, the dry garden, the edible garden, the forest garden - a European and an Australian forest, the parterre garden and the display gardens.

After a light lunch of platters of sandwiches, cakes and fruit, we re-board the coach for the short trip to the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery. Although the Chocolaterie only opened in late 2012, it has certainly made a name for itself and no visit to the Yarra Valley is complete without stopping in to purchase some of their divine chocolate treats! We then settle back in our seats and soak up the scenery as we make our way back home.
